"The Trijet"
The classic three-engine jet that ruled the 1970s!
About the Boeing 727
The Boeing 727 was one of the most popular jets of the 1960s and 70s. It has three engines — two on the sides of the tail and one in the middle. This unusual design let it fly from shorter runways and into smaller airports. Over 1,800 were built, and some are still flying today as cargo planes.
Cool Fact!
The 727 has a secret staircase in the tail that folds down so passengers can board from the back of the plane! 🪜
